The Cost of Control Community Event

When Parliament makes law-abiding firearm owners the scapegoat for community safety, ordinary people bear the cost.

Higher fees. More red tape. Pressure on clubs, ranges, small businesses, farmers, and sporting communities. Less respect for people who already follow the law.

The Cost of Control Community Event will expose the real economic and community impact of NSW firearm law changes, including the true cost of the proposed Gun Buy Back and what these laws mean for the NSW economy.

And the location matters.

This event is being held in Penrith — the most marginal government-held seat in NSW — on State Budget Day. A strong turnout will send a clear message: shooters, their families, their businesses, and their supporters are organised, paying attention, and ready to be heard at the March 2027 State Election.

Join Shooters Union Australia to hear what is at stake, ask questions, and stand with others who believe law-abiding firearm owners should not be punished for political convenience.

During the event, we’ll release:

  • The true cost of the NSW proposed Gun Buy Back on shooters and their communities
  • The gap between the Government’s budget and the real economic impact
  • Our political allies and adversaries
  • Shooters Union’s plan for how responsible firearm owners can fight back

If these changes hit your sport, your business, your community, or your rights — be in the room.
